Installed rdektop on NOKIA N900. Its works nicely with windows 7 ultimate edition. Wooofoooo ! What a tablet ! . I’m fan of N900 now .

I was disappointed after bought a phone NOKIA N900 in Bangalore, INDIA. There is no SKYPE default plug-in.  I read somewhere Indian government not approved it seems.. but same time , there is a workaround solution.

 YOU HAVE TO DO IT WITH  YOUR OWN RISK . NO WHERE THIS INSTRUCTIONS VERIFIED BY NOKIA or PROFESSIONALS.  JUST TAKE A CAUTION.

My experience :

                          During the flash , it updates only the core. So contacts , notes, photos, videos and music everything will be there after flash. if you have installed any applications then it will be removed.  You may be note download your current application list so that it will be easy download again quick.

Tools needed:

1.  maemo_flasher-3.5  –> this tool used to flash the firmware to phone.  It works on command prompt.

2. RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin  –> This is firmware PR 1.2 global version which has SKYPE also. ( you have to choose latest global version.. )

3.  Micro USB cable to connect your computer and phone.

Here is the steps to do:

Step1 :  Get maemo flasher from  http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-dev-env-downloads.php

Step2:   Get firmware from http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php    ( you need to provide your phone IMEI number to download ).

Step3 :  Install maemo flasher in your system.

Step4.   Copy the firmware RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin  ( which was downloaded from step2 ) to  maemo flasher installed directory.

Step5:  Power off your NOKIA N900

Step6:  Connect micro USB to NOKIA N900 first and hold the “U” key in the mine keyboard then connect to computer.

Step7:  NOKIA N900 will show small USB sign in the right most corner of the phone screen.

Step8:  Your system may install some drivers.

Step9 :  We are ready to flash , Navigate to windows menu and click on maemo flasher 3.5  ( It will open Command Prompt window )

Step10 :  Run the command “ flasher-3.5 -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f –R “

Step11:  Wait for 3 minutes to 5 minutes, you will be seeing message “ CMT flashed successfully “ after that window will disappear.

Step12 :  Congratulations you are flashed  global version in NOKIA N900.  Enjoy the SKYPE

Hey Do you know Vista supports additional two clocks. It helps me a lot when I work with my colleges who is away from borders.

How to do that ? .. Just follow the steps.

1. Double click on the digital clock displaced in the right most down ( default clock).

2. In the pop-up window click the link “ Change date and time settings “ options.

3. Now configure your additional clocks.

Just move mice over the digital clock. It will show all three clocks.

I’m not sure you have tried this.. use windows key + tab key .. watch the 3D fun ..

Well, I have a trouble to install and working environment for Apache /MySQL / PHP.  Finally I have found one bundle package XAMPP. It has cool installation and working without any issue.

Nice tool to use..!.
